Not much to say today......

Not much to say today, feeling tired and ucky, so I thought I'd just post a few of today's pics instead. These are the few ornamental squash we grew in the garden this year.
Its a dogs life. Woody curled up on the sofa this morning.

And Phoebe decided she didn't want to sleep on our bed this morning, so she retreated to her igloo in the conservatory on top the tumble dryer. Its really warm and sunny in here.

That's all folks. Hopefully I'll be more interesting tomorrow. xxx

Tuesday musings..........

I managed to finish the other sets of flower faerie cushions last night, and had to take another pic. I could have my whole house covered in this fabric and not get bored of it, its so pretty.
Also whipped up this little pin cushion last night, can't decide if I like it though, I was just itching to make something from this fabric.
I'm working the school holiday club this week, and we got the paints out today, and blimey didn't they make a mess, one girl had pink fluorescent paint all over her cream cardigan. I do hope it comes out in the wash. Got home about half one, and look what the postman brought me......

I ordered this online last week after Sarah at Pink Petal Designs had recommended it on her blog. I've had a bit of a flick through, but will have a good read a bit later when I'm in my jammies, fleecy dressing gown, slippers and snuggling with my hottie, cos its bloomin freezin. I mean you've got to be comfy on days like these.
I've got a nice shepherds pie cooking for tea to warm the insides and a glass of wine for me! I'm just enjoying the peace and quiet at the moment, hubby's still at work, dog and cat are dozing and its cosy inside.

This is my attempt at tidying my dining room table. You should have seen it last night, fabric everywhere. Well I might get a bit of blogging done before tea, so catch you later. xxx

Flower Faerie Cushions.....

Didn't have work today yippee, so managed to stuff the flower faerie lavender cushions today, I've also made some slightly smaller lavender cushions in another flower faerie fabric. I have one complete set, and four mini cushions still to stuff.

Ta Da. Here's one complete set, the pics aren't that good due to good old British summer time, so I'll try and take a pic in daylight tomorrow. These are destined for the craft fair, but I may put a couple on my Etsy shop, as I still have some fabric left.
Also today I made a handmade card which went in the Halloween swap parcel, no pic I'm afraid. Also been to the supermarket to do the weekly shop (boring) and the Post Office. I've still got a zillion and one things to do, including the dinner so catch up later folks. xxx

Me again....

Well I never did get that cake baked, but I did finish my Halloween swap item for the CL forum, so will put that in the post tomorrow. I'm really pleased with it and would love to show you a pic, but its a surprise swap, and the lady that's to receive it reads my blog. I'll give you one clue and say that's its quilted.

This evening I've cut out and stitched five Flower Fairy Mini cushions/lavender sachets which tomorrow I will stuff and finish off. I suddenly remembered I had the fabric in my stash tonight so dashed upstairs retrieved it from the drawer and got cracking.

Nita, with regards to my number below, it couldn't be more accurate scary. I'm gonna watch that Dickens thing on at eight, so have a nice evening everyone. xxx

My Expression number is......

I got this from Nita's blog, The Kentish lass. Why not have a go.

Your Expression Number is 7

Very intelligent, you are usually thinking, introspecting, or analyzing.

You have a good mind, and you are especially good at finding out the truth.

Very little ever escapes your observation and deep understanding.

You tend to obsess over wisdom and hidden truths.

You are likely to become a authority on any subject you undertake.

Operating on a different wavelength, most people don't know you that well.

Very logical and rational, at times you tend to lack emotion.

So much so, that you often have times coping with emotional situations.

You are not very adaptable - you may tend to be overly critical at times.

Black as a Black Thing.......

Well today is SUNDAY, yep SUN day, I think they must be mistaken, i see no sun. Yesterday I did a post about needing more black in my life, the morale of that story is be careful what you wish for as its black as a black thing here today and raining effelumps and woozles. Mr Pixie has just taken Woody for a walk and hes gonna get soaked. Woody will definitely be being chucked in the bath when he gets back.

Today will be a day of housework, homework and craft work, including my Halloween swap item for the CL forum which needs posting the beginning of the week. So much to do so little time. I would have liked to bake a cake too, we'll have to see how motivated I can be today.

Enjoy your SUNday all!

More Black Please.......

Well via Solstice Dreamers blog, I had a go at this and apparently I need more black......

You Need Some Black in Your Life

Black will make you feel powerful, in control, and not bound to what other people think of you.

And with a little black, you will project a aura of mystery, rebellion, and dominance.

If you want people to respect you, you've got to get a little black in your life!

For extra punch: Combine black with orange or red

The downside of black: People won't be able to "read" you - and may perceive you as more aggressive than you actually are

The consequences of more black in your life:

You'll become a figure of intrigue and speculation

You'll be better prepared for life's unknown path

You'll rest better and free yourself of expectations

Childhood memories......

To cheer myself up this evening, I've been reminiscing my childhood, below are some of my memories. I thought this would be a lovely thing for fellow bloggers to do in these depressing times. So heres the challenge, why don't you all have a go, I'd love to see fellow bloggers childhood memories.
I've put the Fraggle Rock theme tune in my playlist to the side its at the top, that will make you smile.
Ahhh Fraggle Rock my all time fav tv programme, closely followed by........

The Pink Windmill, Grotbags was always my favourite.

Come on admit it, we all had one of these......Mine was lilac, with matching Velcro trainers.

I snuggled up with one of these.

Listened to this........

Watched this A LOT!

Had some of these, whilst launching myself from the sofa, in a popular dance craze.

Oh hello Mr Ben, where are we going today...........

I had rather a soft spot for the Karate kid, and even started Karate lessons. Not that they lasted very long.

Hey You Guys.....remember this?

Got a light Jamie.....

I knew those leg warmers would come in handy.
Your probably thinking I'm completely bonkers now, but I really enjoyed that. Go on give it a go.

My New Favourite Place.....

Today folks, I visited my newly found favourite place. Cheselpeake Mill. It sells lots of vintage furniture and accessories, new bits and bobs old fashioned games, homespun and handmade items etc. I could spend hours in there and I probably do. I picked these two cards up from there today, vintage and funny to boot.

I also got this great witches hat for Halloween. It was half price in the garden centre and reminds me of the sorting hat in Harry Potter. (Modelled here by Woody and a giraffe)

My other great purchase was this gorgeous wicker basket. I'm going to line it in a pretty fabric and display some goodies in at the craft fair. Woody wasn't impressed that it didn't contain food or balls.

And my favourite thing is this HOME sign. I've wanted one for ages. I'm undecided if this is where I'll keep it, I may have to move it around a bit first.

I also got three get stocking filler gifts for the family, but can't put them on here for obvious reasons.

Well back to my sewing folks.

I've done it.............

Well folkses, after making two shepherds pies this morning and a bit of washing, I sat down at poot and opened an Etsy shop, aaahhhh. I've had a buyers account for a while, but now I've actually listed something that I've made, its really quite exciting. The hoovering will ave to wait until this evening as I'm off to work in a minute, so just a short post.

Sunday 19 October 2008

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well, here are a few pics of what I've getting up too, in preparation for the up and coming craft fairs. I'm really pleased with how my Gingerbread Man garland has turned out, it smells really festive.

I've also made these dangly's which have either a cinnamon or gingerbread scent. I think the red hearts still need a little something, so may add a bow.
I thought I would have a bash at embroidering the chickens.
This cat candle holder and the oil burner below are what I acquired at the recent candle party I held at my house. I had £25 to spend, thanks to my friends which ordered stuff and a 15% discount on other stuff and money off the hostess specials. I've also got a lovely Xmas ornament and an incense set.
I've got this lit, as I'm writing this post. It's got the scent of holiday spices, yummy. x

Workspace and work in progress!

Single gingerbread man garland. I'd quite like to keep these and put all over the house.

And last but not least is the pink, fairy heart I made. This has got a rose scent, and my mum tried to nab it. I'll have to make her one for Christmas. xxx
