Rainy Day......

Its absolutely freezin here, and dark and its raining effelumps and woozles again. Bloomin Weather.
I went to get my MIL some flowers yesterday as she's very poorly at the moment and hubby gave me some money to buy some flowers for myself too. Aren't they pretty. The lily's smell lovely.
Look at my daft dog. He didn't realise for ages this morning that hubby had put his duck on his back.

Didn't get a single trick or treater last night :o(, never mind more sweets for us. Need to get some sewing done this afternoon, so will be off to do that in a mo. Have a nice afternoon folks.

Black as a Black Thing.......

Well today is SUNDAY, yep SUN day, I think they must be mistaken, i see no sun. Yesterday I did a post about needing more black in my life, the morale of that story is be careful what you wish for as its black as a black thing here today and raining effelumps and woozles. Mr Pixie has just taken Woody for a walk and hes gonna get soaked. Woody will definitely be being chucked in the bath when he gets back.

Today will be a day of housework, homework and craft work, including my Halloween swap item for the CL forum which needs posting the beginning of the week. So much to do so little time. I would have liked to bake a cake too, we'll have to see how motivated I can be today.

Enjoy your SUNday all!

A Storm and my Tea Cup

Well we had some weird weather this morning. Got up at about 7.30 and it was lovely and sunny out and the birds were tweeting, then at about 9, it went really dark, just after hubby had left to walk the boy! He got to the Nature Reserve started to walk, but didn't have his coat, so went back to the Landy and took the boy over Granfers for a play up the yard, so he could stand in the shed! We had really loud thunder and lighting, and I had just got out of the shower, but chickened out of using my hair dryer, I know I'm a silly cow. Needless to say I've had fluffy hair all day, so stayed at home, and have drunk tea all day.

Helped Hubby put the coving up in the dining room, and started making a Hare. Got no-where to put my sewing machine at the moment, so I'm stitching it by hand.

The putting up the tent trial went well yesterday, except we put it on inside out to start with, then forgot the spacers and the plastic caps, but I have written myself an idiots guide so next Friday, fingers crossed, I should manage it.

Some more snow day pics.....

I couldn't resist putting some more photos of yesterdays snow on here. I was a bit snap happy with the camera yesterday, but decent snow never happens in Hampshire, so I didn't want to miss the opportunity.
This is Woody's coat which was purchased from the Range, its a bit girly, but keeps him warm. We always seem to have a cold snap just after he's been clipped. Trouble is yesterday he decided to jump in the lake in it! So it had to come off, and we took it in turns to carry it.
More Trees....
I quite liked this shot....
Look at that sky!

I did feel sorry for the birds yesterday, on Thursday and Friday it was really warm and they were happily preparing for spring, feathering their nests and getting ready for some chicks and then it goes and gets blooming cold and snows. The poor little things must be so confused, i know i am. The weather seems all over the place as late, its so unpredictable. I hope it gets warmer soon I'm camping in four weeks time.

This morning is very chilly and the car is completely frozen, but I don't intend going anywhere until work tonight sigh. I've got a lot of over ripe bananas in the kitchen, so I may make a couple of banana loaves.

It's a snow day!!!

We couldn't believe it, when we opened the curtains this morning, I know the weather forecast said to expect snow, but they're normally wrong. But not this time, it was amazing. So picturesque.
These first three pictures were taken at the nature reserve this morning, its a beautiful place.
Hubby and I had a bit of a snowball fight, but as usual I never win.
Woody's never really seen snow before and thought it was fab, I was running around the garden this morning in my PJ's and trainers with him. He went and got a ball, and was having great fun rolling it around and burying it in the snow.
He got snow stuck on his ears but he didn't mind, "I'm all white mum"!

I would like to thank Sarah for my award, I was so chuffed, I will try to put this on my blog later.

Still Raining....

As you can see Woody is a well and truly a part of the family. You can't even read the paper without him being included. He's such a daddy's boy!

I had another bash at making lemon curd today. This time it set quite quickly and is a lot thicker than the last batch, it tastes great too.

It's still raining here, so just spending the day pottering around the house.

Rain, Rain, Go Away.....

I thought I'd put up a few pics of the bargain flowers I bought this week. They're very colourful and thought they would brighten up everyone's day. It's still bloomin raining here. Woody and I got a bit wet on our walk this morning, the little man looked like he'd had a perm. :o)

I've just discovered Etsy via blogging and it's great. Basically people put their handmade items up for sale on there, it's quite good. I found a lady in Yorkshire who makes the most amazing jumpers from recycled materials. They all have pixie hoods, which I love. Trouble is with postage will cost about £100, which i don't have at the moment sigh. I don't buy clothes very often, as trying them on depresses me and I come back feeling fatter than when i went. But this particular jumper was great. Worth slimming into if it didn't fit.
This is a pic of Woody with his Easter duck, it was only 99p and it quacks! He likes it anyway. He's just emptied the contents of his toy box all over the lounge floor. We have a pheasant, a frog, a puppy, and big fluffy ball, two tennis balls and his duck!
Think I might get in the kitchen in a minute and make a Victoria sponge and maybe some coconut macaroons. Got to cook hubby some dinner tonight, but I'm out with the girls for a meal as its T's birthday. But I might put a little bottle of wine in my handbag to save a few quid. :o)

Full Moon....

I took these last night, there not great pics, but I tried. It was a really cloudy night and a bit chilly, but I braved the garden (if you can call it that, it's more like a swamp at the moment).

I quite liked this pic of the moon peeping through the tree.
I would just like to say thanks to Fiona at Cottage Smallholder for saying such lovely things about my Blog. Cottage Smallholder is a fantastic site for inspiration on cooking, gardening and self sufficiency. Check out my blog link list at the side.

Wednesday's Enchantment

There she weaves by night and day
A magic web with colours gay.
She has heard a whisper say,
A curse is on her if she stay
To look down to Camelot.

Very Wet Dog & Owner, Need Towel....

Phoebe's got the right idea!

Woody getting dried off!

It stopped raining and a bit of sun peeped through the clouds so I finally braved the weather this morning to take Woody for his walk, THAT WAS A MISTAKE! No sooner had I got as far as the park the heavens opened. We were wet by then so i thought we might as well carry on. All the lamp posts in the park were half over with the tops all smashed, so I had to watch Woody's paws. We got a bit further on and the lovely Willow had taken a real beating, I guess this is a not so Whomping Willow. I took some photo's on my camera phone, but can't work out how to get them on the lap top.

Monday's Enchantment....

Lost, yesterday, somewhere between Sunrise and Sunset, two golden hours, each set with sixty diamond minutes. No reward is offered, for they are gone forever.

Horace Mann, Lost, Two Golden Hours

The March Winds
The March winds are scurrying from the Southwest, to chase the old winter away. And buckets and tubs that are standing around jump quickly and shout ''Hip Hooray!''
And zig zag away here and there, in the yard. And the shingles, if loose, start to fly, And the waste-basket papers left outside the door, make a bee-line, then shoot for the sky!
Mrs. Biddy, the hen, tries again and again To visit her usual places
In her casual way, but the wind, on its way, commands, and she right about faces.
The cat curls up, near where the pup is asleep back under the porch, near the wall,
For outside where things act so crazy today, There's no chance to slumber at all.
The March winds are just one big boisterous show. With lions and clowns in the ring
And when the shows over we turn to behold the first blooming flowers of Spring!

Rainbow...

''Though they seldom come together the sun and rain sometimes are one, and when they join they form a rainbow, gaze in wonder if you ever see one''.

Not a particularly good picture of today's rainbow but i tried. The weather was strange this afternoon, sun one minute, then rain and then hail. Tonight's moon looks just like the Cheshire cat out of Alice in Wonderland, but I expect it will be covered in clouds soon.
