A make for me and bootsale bargains

Hi Folks, thought I would put a few pics on here of my latest make, finished today, and this one is all for me! I've been SEW busy lately making things for swaps and an order that I thought it was about time I made something for me, especially as my sewing mojo is back in force at the moment and I know at some point I'll lose it again. :o)
This Flower Garden Tilda angel is from Tilda's Summer Ideas I'm loving this latest little booklet, its so full of eye candy.
Sorry for so many pics, but I was so pleased with how she turned out and couldn't decide on which pics to use.

Here's the pic of what she looks like in the Tilda's Summer Ideas book.

Now look at these lovely ribbons that arrived in the post this week from Patch, they are lovely thanks so much Claire.

On Sunday being as it was such a lovely day my sister in law and I ventured to the car booty, to see what bargains we could pick up. And for once I found some.
I got this gorgeous pair of curtains which look very Cath Kidston but are from mini Boden. I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy the quilt cover too, but I'd already spent a lot. I have them hanging in the little bedroom.
And you never find CK at a bootsale, but I did on Sunday, I got this lovely Travel Wallet. I can spot a bit of CK from 50 yards, so this was nabbed before anyone else got the chance. I also got two Fat Face tops and an Animal top for hubby which look great on him, so Sunday proved to be a good day for bargains.

I've signed up for a couple more swaps so will be busy making for them soon, but I'm going to try and fit in a little more sewing for me too. I fancy making a cushion next I think. Well that's all for now, off to wash up.

OOHH just had a thought, doe's anyone know how to get your signature at the bottom of your posts? I've seen it on a few blogs and would love to know how its done. xxx

The Weekend......

Firstly, sorry for not being about the past couple of days, I don't know where the time has gone. It's flown by in a mass of dinners and car boot sales. Whilst I was out taking my mum shopping on Saturday the posty left this gorgeous looking box.
It was my Easter/Spring swap from from Ruby's Mama! Want to see what's inside...........

Lots of prettily wrapped parcels and chicks..........................

And this little stash, a choccy bunny, ceramic heart button, Easter decoration, tissues, ice cream lip balm, cup cake coasters, pot of marmalade, a tiny little glass chick, a great stitches book and a gorgeous hand made necklace.

My pic doesn't do it justice, its so pretty, all those scrummy glass beads.
Thanks so much Kirsty. xxxxx

I hope everyone enjoyed the swap and you have all received your swap parcels now. I may host another swap in the summer, as I enjoyed it so much!

Mum and Dad came over for dinner on Sunday, and gave me this huge bunch of flowers. So many they had to go in two vases. Mum said they were a Thank you for all the shopping trips I take her on, as she's been unable to drive for over a year. Thanks mum and Dad. x

I love the Lillie's!
We had a nice roast dinner followed by fruit flan and custard, and a couple of glasses of cava. They didn't stay too late as we were all tired. I was up at 4.30 on Sunday to do another car booty with my SIL and brother. The weather was a bit of a let down though. The weather man lied, he said it was going to be sunny and maybe showers in the afternoon grrrrr. SIL went home early, but we stuck it out until about 11.30. My brother did well selling old fishing gear and I made another £32. At the end I was even giving stuff away and still couldn't shift it all. Not many good bargains to be had either. I got a couple of lamp bases for 50p each and a nice gift boxed country living coffee pot, will put a pic of that on here another time.

My friend Marie came over for a cuppa Monday, and ended up coming back for dinner too. We did a roast between us which was scrummy. Her daughter came too, and later on a friend came for some drinks. We ate more! including polishing off the batch of iced buns I'd made earlier, and had a play with my Tarot Cards.
The CK jug and keyring were an Easter Pressie from Marie. I was so chuffed. She also got me a cream egg and hubby lots of Easter eggs. Thanks Hun!

The keyring matches my handbag :o).
So all in all a very busy weekend. I need to get cracking now with a swap, that I'm taking part in hosted by Silkie Sue, and a spring swap to do on the SC forum. Busy busy busy.
Have a nice evening folks.

Bootsales, Kettles and Cats.......

Hello Folks. I thought I'd start by showing you a few pics I took in the dining room the other day. The sun was streaming through the window and it looked so warm and pretty in there. Here's the Dafs and Pussy Willow on our Dining Table.

And a pic of the cupboard with my Little Tesco Easter Tree on.
Today myself and My Sil, Tina from Teeny Bears, had a pitch at the local car boot sale, so it was a very early start, up at 5 and there by 6. I've got so much stuff to shift but people just want you to give it away, for example one man, was looking at a brand new in box set of shelves for the shower which I was asking £1.50 for, he then proceeded to knock me down to 50p and then wanted to know if you'd have to drill a hole in the wall to put them up, only he doesn't want to be drilling holes. DOH what do you bloody think, AAARRRGGG, Tina said perhaps he wants us to go to his house and put them up for him, and probably charge us for the Privilege.
We were only asking 50p and £1.00 for stuff. The most I made on one item was £3. So a grand total today of £31 profit, was it worth it?

I did pick this pair of vintage wool blankets up for £2, if nothing else they will do for camping or dog blankets.

Mum bought me this lovely goose plate in the charity shop Saturday, very Easterish I thought.

And here's a pic of my new camping kettle. I had to be different and have a pink one. I'm really looking forward to the camping trip in May. We even have a new tent.

Last but not least is a couple of pics of Phoebe all snuggled on our bed.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine.

Bootsale Bargains......

Sorry I haven't been posting much of late. Life's a bit hectic at the moment, and I'm still trying to settle into a routine with my new job. I managed to pick these bits up at the boot sale on Sunday. At the top is a colclough tea set, its exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for, its so pretty with all the little pink roses over it, and its perfect for my tea party. The little tea set minus the sugar bowl cost £1. Then I spotted the sugar bowl on another stall for 50p, what are the chances!
Also got this pretty little flan dish with a blackberry pattern for 20p........
and lovely mason and cash mixing bowl, like brand new for £1. Was really chuffed with my little finds. Had to get diesel after the boot sale though, and that set me back £30, HOW MUCH!!!
I made this little heart yesterday and added a lavender essential oil to the stuffing. I thought it looked really pretty tied onto my enamel jug.

Bootsale Buys.......

Got a few nice bits at the boot sale yesterday, (top) this lovely Tuscan ware tea cup, saucer and plate which I love and is the first buy for my afternoon tea party.
Also got this lovely sugar/jam pot and chicken salt and pepper pot by Gisela Graham, which are gonna look fab on the new dresser.
Also got a couple of paper backs to add to my ever expanding bookshelf.

Had a busy week so haven't posted much. We picked our new carpet up on Saturday and finished the painting Friday. Hubby laid the carpet gripper and underlay at the weekend and hopefully will get the carpet down this week. We still need to fix the units to the wall, and at some point make a cupboard for the freezer. Bought a nice old pine table with a drawer and four chairs from e-bay for £41.00, which Hubby picked up Sunday. It's round the in-laws at the mo, so hopefully I will see it tonight. I'll post a pic when I can. So all in all the decorating is getting there.

I started my new job today as a play worker, I think it's gonna be good, but sooooooo many names to remember.
