The Wanderer returns...............

Hello,

It took me a while but I finally got a chance to get back onto my blog. Beltane camp was great. Apologies for the serious lack of pics, I kept forgetting to get my camera out of the tent, and the other pics I do have are of my friends looking rough so I have been forbidden to put them on my blog. Most of my trip was spent sat around chatting, singing, and drinking although not in excess this year. We went to a couple of events around the bell fire, one of which was a pagan marriage ceremony, which was followed by a fire labyrinth. The labyrinth was amazing it had died down alot before I got to take a photo. We laughed a lot and were really grubby and in need of a bath by the time Monday arrived, so it was nice to get home and get clean. I don't sleep very well at camp so I spent the following week feeling tired, in fact for the last two weeks I've felt tired, and trying to catch up on some sleep.

Last Sunday we had a lovely day out with friends in the Forest of Bere. We intended to have a BBQ but they don't allow them there anymore so we had a picnic and took the BBQ's over our friends later. We had great fun playing with an aerobie, which is like a Frisbee but fly's better, so we're on the look out for one now. As well as us, Woody was tuckered out the next day too, as he spent hours chasing after his ball.
Last night I went to a Ladies evening at a local school as my SIL was selling her cupcakes. Its the first time she's taken them anywhere to sell and they sold like.....well, hot cakes, I guess, lol. The stall looked great and she sold every last one. Check out her new cupcake blog here.
I purchased some pretty cards and wrapping paper from the Phoenix trading stall and some smellies from another lady. A local beauty salon were there as well doing manicures and threading, so we all decided to have our eyebrows threaded. I can recommend it, they look great and threading gives a better shape than waxing and it doesn't hurt anymore than waxing either. Best of all it only cost me £5.
I haven't made much of anything for a while, as I just haven't been in the right mood. Its pointless me trying to make stuff if my hearts just not in it. So today will be spent trying to find my mojo (i think thats the term) lol.
I have been up to something else too but I will put that in another post this week. Hope you are all well.

Bootsales, Kettles and Cats.......

Hello Folks. I thought I'd start by showing you a few pics I took in the dining room the other day. The sun was streaming through the window and it looked so warm and pretty in there. Here's the Dafs and Pussy Willow on our Dining Table.

And a pic of the cupboard with my Little Tesco Easter Tree on.
Today myself and My Sil, Tina from Teeny Bears, had a pitch at the local car boot sale, so it was a very early start, up at 5 and there by 6. I've got so much stuff to shift but people just want you to give it away, for example one man, was looking at a brand new in box set of shelves for the shower which I was asking £1.50 for, he then proceeded to knock me down to 50p and then wanted to know if you'd have to drill a hole in the wall to put them up, only he doesn't want to be drilling holes. DOH what do you bloody think, AAARRRGGG, Tina said perhaps he wants us to go to his house and put them up for him, and probably charge us for the Privilege.
We were only asking 50p and £1.00 for stuff. The most I made on one item was £3. So a grand total today of £31 profit, was it worth it?

I did pick this pair of vintage wool blankets up for £2, if nothing else they will do for camping or dog blankets.

Mum bought me this lovely goose plate in the charity shop Saturday, very Easterish I thought.

And here's a pic of my new camping kettle. I had to be different and have a pink one. I'm really looking forward to the camping trip in May. We even have a new tent.

Last but not least is a couple of pics of Phoebe all snuggled on our bed.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine.

Artemis Gathering

Had a fantastic time at the Artemis Gathering at the weekend, despite the appalling weather. Friday wasn't too bad, Saturday was wet and Sunday was windy. But I'm starting to become a hardened camper so I managed. The highlight of the camp for me was listening to Damh the Bard sing live. There was such a fantastic atmosphere and everybody joined in. My favourites have to be Pagan Ways and Green and Grey.
The Dolmen played later that evening and were also really good. Lots of covers done that we could all sing along too. As they were playing the Tribe of Kismet were belly dancing, and I must say was quite impressed.
The wolfs trust also attended so took a snap of this cutie. A few of us and our faces painted and I took my friends little girl to get hers done to. Here she proudly presents her butterfly, which of course had to match her crown and her poncho!

There were a few shops and stalls there. I had my tarot cards read, which was interesting and loved the talk given by the Wise Woman, she really knew her stuff. ZizzyFay clothing had a stall and Izzy's clothes are gorgeous, just e-mailed her to see if she can make me a top, as she only had small people sizes on her stall.

Wicca Woman were there, and they cater for the larger pagan girl, at last! So I did buy myself a lovely maroon velvet hooded top.

The Wicca Goddess which was fantastic didn't burn unfortunately, due to the fact she was absolutely drenched. There are some photos of her and the fire dancers on my friends camera, so will pop some on here when I get a copy.

Also bumped into a couple of fellow Stonewylde forumers which was lovely, we all wore our t-shirts to spread the word about these fantastic books.

So had a great weekend, but glad to be home to get some sleep.

The Artemis Gathering 2008

Morning all! Two posts in a week SHOCK! On the 8th, 9th and 10th of August, I'm going to be at The Artemis Gathering. Never been before but it looks great. It's camping for three days and theres going to be loads to do:- Artemis bar and cafe, Damh the Bard, Kate West, Jugglers and Fire eaters, Wolf trust, Acorn trust animal sanctuary, Andy Harrop, James Bennett, The Dolmen, and more.
I'm really looking forward to hearing the Dolmen and Damh the Bard play as I've never heard them live. Also can't wait for the talk by Kate West.
Were going to try and travel a bit lighter this time, as the amount of stuff we all took last time was crazy. Especially bacon and sausages. Whats good is that theres a cafe there as well so we won't need to take as much.
Never driven to Oxfordshire before, not sure if I'm gonna enjoy that bit, but hopefully the Sat Nav will get me there in one piece.

Beltane Camp 2008

Well, I'm back and it was a good camp. Our little part of camp is more like a little village, the amount of stuff we seem to take with us. This is a pic of our kitchen tent, and my friend Sharon's kitchen larder, which she was particularly proud of. Notes to my self for next time, work out how many people are taking bacon and sausages as we had to give some away and throw some, as we had so much.
We got through quite a lot of this stuff, in the fire pit.
This is Pixiedust's accommodation. It's supposed to be a four man tent, but only enough room for me and my stuff.
AAHH THE FIRE PIT!
This is my friend Sharon in the smoke. Quite an eerie pic I thought.

Camp breakfast. The fire pit even came in handy for cooking on.
Here we all are Maypole dancing. We didn't start off very well, as somehow we kept getting the directions wrong.
It came together at the end though.
One of the corners of the Floralia ritual. Which I always enjoy.

We also did a bit of barn dancing in the big tent, which was great fun but exhausting. And yet again, proved my lack of coordination. There were many late nights had and copious amounts of Mead and other alcohol consumed, purely to keep us warm of course. We sang and drummed and watched the stars whilst listening to owls. My new friends Marie and Julian saw a shooting star, which as usual i missed, too busy talking. We saw loads of deer and I heard a cuckoo for the first time. It did rain all night on Sunday and Monday morning, so we came back Monday. But all in all we had good weather, and Beltane camp was a success.

Beltane Camp

Hi everyone, just to let you know I won't be posting for a few days, as off to Beltane camp. You'd think I was going for a week, the amount of stuff I seem to be taking. I'm a typical Virgo, being prepared for every eventuality. My poor car's got to lug it all to camp. I'm hoping the grounds not too bad, as my worst nightmare would be getting stuck in. My car is filled with lots of jumpers, blankets and quilts, as I really feel the cold. When I return, I hope to have lots of pics and plenty to blog about. Speak to you all soon.

Happy Beltane. xxx

Look what the posty delivered.....

I've been waiting for these to arrive, this is a couple of bars of soap I ordered and a candle. Isn't the packing pretty, I had to take a photo. This company use all organic and natural products and their stuff smell's scrummy. I've got a soap in Myrrh rose, and one in Moonsand, as well as a candle in Myrrh rose. I discovered Merrywood at the Christmas Market in Winchester, where I bought a Myrrh rose soap, my hands cleared right up when I used it, as I suffer from really dry and cracked hands. One of the things on my to do list, is to have a go at soapmaking.
Merrywood's website isn't finished yet, but you can get their address from the main page and e-mail address for a catalogue.

Also in the post today was the two fat quarters of Laura Ashley fabric from e-bay, that I've ordered for my first Quilt Along square. All I have to do now is make a start on it. I love these gorgeous pale pinks, and hopefully the whole quilt, will be in similar fabric. I'm only buying it as I need it at the moment, in case I don't get on with it.

I also had my Coffee bean and sunburst Linen in the post today, for my stuffed doll and animal project. Once I have one finished, I'll pop up a pick. I'm working on a Hare at the moment.
Been out and about again today. Had to pop to the bakers to get my mum and hubby a Lardy cake. Then I went over mum's to pick up my picnic table for camp that they'd borrowed. She gave me a lovely thick and heavy red mohair jumper she'd found in a charity shop, not sure if its my cup of tea normally, but is soooo warm and soft, and is perfect for camp at the weekend. She'd also finished my knitted hot water bottle cover. Mum's not too good at making stuff, but I like it, just because she made it. From mums I went to Garsons, its the only place I know locally that sell Mead, £10 a bloomin bottle though, but you can't go to Beltane camp without a bottle of mead. I then went to Westlands Farm shop to get burgers, sausages and bacon for camp and a box of duck eggs, which are scrummy. I was tempted to buy a goose egg as they had these for sale at 90p each. They were massive and I don't think I'd ever seen a goose egg before. Then back home to Woody and my post. So far so good, except for all the bloomin rain.
