Bits and Pieces.........

Hello folks, I haven't been on here as much for a few days, so I haven't had time to comment on as many of your blogs as I would have liked. I was on a course all day yesterday, but managed to pop into Cheselpeake Mill on the way back. Its been all re-done and looks fab. got a few bits and pieces. I fell in love with these storage boxes, aren't they cute. Not sure what I'll put in them yet, but I'm bound to find something.
I also found some love cotton tape by Caroline Zoob and a couple of East of India ribbons.

And I just loved this vintage fridge magnet. The little mini teapot above I found in the whittards outlet shop today for £3, thought it was like the new Emma Bridgewater design.

Thanks to everyone who had a look for some fabric for me, much appreciated.
Having one of those days today, where you look at the house and know that lots needs doing, but you can't do a particular job until you've done another one.....phew.....and it goes on. It doesn't help that I've got so many ideas of things to make racing through my mind, and I have a couple of swaps and pressies to complete. All this and no wine or chocolate, cos I'm trying to be good too :O(.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. (((((hugs))))) Pixie. xxxx

A Wanna Be Domestic Goddess

You would think with all these books, on cookery, cleaning and good old house wifery, that I'd be a true domestic goddess. Urm! I'd like to be, but I'm dreadful at managing my time and I'm probably the worlds biggest procrastinator. So it is my aim, starting from today, as we always break our new years resolutions, to be a Domestic Goddess. I can already talk the talk, but need to be able to walk the walk.

I'm hoping to go to the Christmas market in Winchester on Saturday, but will try and get a bit of cleaning done. Sunday is the first day in ages that is free, and I'm so looking forward to it. I'm going to get the Christmas cake made and hope to get some cleaning and sorting out done as well. Hopefully I will try and tackle either the bathroom or the kitchen, as these two rooms are in desperate need of some tlc, and need more than just a quick flick around.
I've made a start, and have dinner ready prepared, so that I can just switch it on when I'm home from work. I'm treating Mr Pixie to a sirloin steak tonight, how decadent. But I'm sick of chips so were having roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots and broccoli. I bought a tub of beef dripping at the farm shop today to cook the roasties in, yum. Whilst at the farm shop I also ordered the Christmas Turkey, a 5kg bronze bird, that will grace the Christmas table. As turkeys are a fair old bit of cash I also paid £10 off today, so its not quite such a huge amount in one go.
I'm feeling all festive now that the birds ordered and I'm singing the pogues Christmas song in my head. I must hook out that CD. Well have a good day all, any tips on my road to being a domestic goddess would be greatly appreciated.

Whats in the box????

My Veg box arrived yesterday. I only have one, once every two weeks at the moment, but if I can get more organised with recipes and making stuff from scratch to freeze etc, we will have a box a week and have no convenience food at all. That's the plan anyway. This weeks box contains:-

Sante Potatoes Parsnips Cauliflower
Carrots Celeriac Purple Sprouting Broccoli
Onions Sweet Mama Squash Jerusalem Artichokes (free)
Leeks Green Cabbage

Any Recipe ideas would be most appreciated. Sometimes I haven't got a clue what to do with it all. I would love to get hubby and myself eating less meat and more veg, saying that I'm not a vegetarian so recipes containing meat are still welcome.

Last nights dinner was lasagne yummy. I froze the two remaining portions for a meal in the week. This is so handy as i work three evenings and one day a week, so when i get home at 8.15 i can just reheat something.

It's still raining here, so the mission for today is to get a load of housework and washing done. I'm so addicted to blogging at the moment that my house is getting neglected. xx

WANTED

......JOB VACANCY......

A vacancy has arisen for a cleaning faerie, at our house in Hampshire. Your duties will be Bathroom Cleaning, Dusting and General Household chores with particular attention to be paid to cleaning the oven. Bijou cottage accommodation included. Please apply with references to Faerie Nuff.

If only i had a bathroom cleaning faerie. Unfortunately i received no applicants and had to clean the bathroom myself this morning. This has to be one of my pet hates, but i do feel a sense of achievement once it's done. I don't intend to do any more housework today. I think i shall go and read my final Stonewylde book - Solstice and have a nice cup of tea!
