Throwing my toys out of the pram!!!!!

I've been desperate to get back into crafting and sewing again, so over the last couple of days I've been planning lots of things I'm going to make and I've had all my sewing books sprawled across the house. Over the weekend I started to make a tall angel from the latest Tilda book. I'm pleased with how the angel has turned out, so now the fun part (or so i thought) making her lovely dress.
I sat at the dining room table, picked a lovely piece of fabric, drew my pattern on, pinned the bodice and arms, stitched the bits that needed stitching and cut it all out, including a large square for the skirt. I put the skirt section to one side and began to attach the sleeves to the bodice...........I thought it was going too well. For starters trying to work out how the sleeves attached to the bodice was a headache, then I finally had the light bulb moment and figured it out.....eureka.....so began to stitch them in. One disaster led to another and although one sleeve is in perfectly the other won't fit after many attempts......so the ******* bodice and sleeves are gracing the floor on the other side of the room. To top it all off, whilst I was stitching, Beau puppy had decided to steal the skirt section and hubby called from the lounge saying ''did you want that piece of fabric the puppy's got''. AAAAAHHHHHHHH the fabric is fine, but will need to be washed and ironed again. The air was seriously blue in our house last night I can tell you. I thought sewing was supposed to be a relaxing pastime! This morning now that I've calmed down, I may attempt the dress again, and IF!!!! I get it finished today I'll post up a pic.
On a lighter note, I'm having a few hours out with my mum today. Its something we never do so it should be quite nice. We're going to visit Cheselpeake mill and possibly Garsons to check out the Christmas displays and have a spot of lunch out. When I return I should be calm enough to tackle operation angel dress! lol.
Also the lovely Mel Mel has given me these awards, thanks so much hun! xxx

I'm to link to Mel Mel, pop the awards in my sidebar, tell you all seven things you don't know about me and pass the awards on to a few deserving bloggers, so here goes.

An Award and Random Pics.....

Hello! I'm blommin freezing today, although the weathers quite nice outside. Nothing particularly exciting to tell you all, so I've put a few of pics on to show you. Firstly Some lovely pink Hyacinths, they just got too tall for their pot and no amount of tying them up was helping so I popped them in a jug on my table instead.

I took these on Tuesday when the sun was streaming in the dining room and it looked really pretty in there, although it doesn't look that sunny in the photo.

Here a lovely handmade fairy in a jar that hubby bought for my birthday a few years ago now, she was made by a lady from e-bay and I think she's really cute!

And the last photo is of a very tired Woody, taken on Sunday, after lots of running around and catching his ball!

Good Week....

Hi Folks, its turning out to be a good week here at Pixie Towers, well for Mrs Pixie anyway. I received my Valentine swap parcel from the gorgeous Mel, which I love, and today I see that I've won Daisies giveaway. I never win anything so I'm so super dooper chuffed. I've also received the Proximidade award twice and Marieantonette award again too, :o) .

I will do the necessary with the awards a bit later as I'm off on a course at lunchtime and need to get showered, so look out for the edited version later.
Also I'm fast approaching 10,000 hits, so I will be doing a giveaway on here soon, so watch this space.
Catch you later (((((hugs))))) Pixiedust. xx

EDIT
Now for the award business:-
The authors say that blogs who receive this award are exceedingly charming. This blog invests in proximity in space, time and relationships. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandisement. Our hope is that when ribbons of these awards are cut, even more friendships will be propagated. Please give your kind attention to these writers.
How lovely is that!
Now I have yo deliver this award to 8 bloggers who will then choose 8 more and include the above cleverly written text to the body of the award.
Heres my chosen 8.

An Award....

Many Thanks to Sian at diary of a tinyholder for this award. Its lovely to know that people enjoy my blog, and it really cheered me up.

Theres so many blogs that I enjoy reading, so fellow bloggers who read this I award this to you too.

I've been on a paediatric first aid course all day today and will be next Saturday as part of my job. I really wasn't looking forward to it as I really wanted some extra sleep this morning. But do you know, I really enjoyed it. Sally who taught the course is a volunteer for Hampshire Ambulance Service and is a member of rapid response, so she actually knew what she was talking about rather than teaching straight from a text book. I came away feeling what a worthwhile course it was and how more people should be trained in first aid, as if you can only help a little its still helping. We need more people like sally who volunteer their services, what a great lady, looking forward to next Saturday now.

On a completely different note, did anyone catch Merlin tonight. I absolutely love this series and my husband dare not speak to me while I'm watching it, its great. If that wasn't treat enough, it was followed by an hour long programme on BBC4 about Merlin, so Pixie is a happy bunny. I also spoke to a friend this afternoon that I haven't spoke to in a year, so that cheered me up too. Quite sleepy now though so off to bed in a minute.

Faerie Nuff... http://faerienuff.blogspot.com/ A blog that I have just started to read. However there are lots of interesting posts and pictures, and I love your mission to be green and frugal.

Cheers Sarah!

The blogs I've chosen are......

Lee at http://solsticedreamer.blogspot.com/ Lee's was one of the first blogs I encountered and I was made to feel welcome straight away. The music and layout are great and I love how passionate Lee feels about important subjects.

Alison at http://woolgatheringwhileisew.blogspot.com/ Alison's craft work and pics are really inspiring and always make me want to get my craft stuff out. Check out her recent patchwork its fab!

Miss R at http://talesofinglewood.blogspot.com/ Miss R is such a wise and spiritual lady who's words always offer inspiration. Always worth a read.

Fiona at http://www.cottagesmallholder.com/ Fiona's was the first blog I ever found whilst looking for a Sloe Gin recipe. Her stories of self sufficiency and her min pins are great, and always make me smile.

Moncha Eilis at http://dreamingofavalon.blogspot.com/ Moncha like me, loves nature her garden and substantial amount of witchy books, and living in the Netherlands its always great to hear what goes on in her part of the world. Always a good read.

I hope I have done this right and the links work, but if not the links at the side of my blog usually do. It was a difficult quest picking 5 people, as I'm in contact with quite a few fellow bloggers. I tried to pick blogging pals that haven't already received this award so we can all share it. Thanks to everyone who visits my blog, its always nice to hear from you.
