An Award and Random Pics.....

Hello! I'm blommin freezing today, although the weathers quite nice outside. Nothing particularly exciting to tell you all, so I've put a few of pics on to show you. Firstly Some lovely pink Hyacinths, they just got too tall for their pot and no amount of tying them up was helping so I popped them in a jug on my table instead.

I took these on Tuesday when the sun was streaming in the dining room and it looked really pretty in there, although it doesn't look that sunny in the photo.

Here a lovely handmade fairy in a jar that hubby bought for my birthday a few years ago now, she was made by a lady from e-bay and I think she's really cute!

And the last photo is of a very tired Woody, taken on Sunday, after lots of running around and catching his ball!

TA DAH..........

Whilst I was out taking mum shopping today, my Cath Kidston bag arrived. Whoopee, I'm so chuffed, Can't decide whether to take it to work today. Its bucketing down and I wouldn't want to ruin it. I've never had a Cath K bag before, so its a new treasured possession. Even the packaging it arrived in is pretty. But the samples I ordered at the same time weren't in the parcel, so if they don't arrive shortly I will have to phone and get them to re-send.
I went on a magical mystery tour to the New Forest yesterday with my friend. We stopped in Lyndhurst to start with and found there to be a flea market on in the hall in the car park. Had to take a look, it would be rude not to. I came across a lovely stall with a couple selling vintage brooches and clip earrings and they had loads. I've never seen so many pretty brooches in one place, and really cheap too, much better than the prices of them on eBay. So with ideas of making bags and accessorising outfits I spent ages umming and arrring and finally decided on these four, mind you one I bought for someone else.

This is my first favorite, I think its so unusual and stunning, and as you can see its already pinned to my duffel coat.

This is my second favourite and the first brooch to catch my eye. The photo doesn't do it justice its sooooooooooooo sparkly and pretty.

and then this one, which I think is simple yet elegant!

and finally this one. not sure if its a feather or leaf, but this ones for a friend even though I love it too.

Then we found a gorgeous antique shop with the most pretty china and glasses in, but I've already spent far too much money of late so I was good and only bought these two soup spoons and cake slice and a knife that we'll use as a butter knife, all 50p each.

My last buy, which was also from the flea market is the lovely organic comfrey and marigold hand cream which is made locally and is just lovely. My hands get really dry and cracked, and I've been on the lookout for some comfrey hand cream.
So after Lyndhurst we set off to Burley, where we had lunch in the pub and a scout around the shops. It was getting cold by then and the bad weather had set in so then off home.
Hubby has found some old shelves in his dads shed that he's going to use to make my peg rail :o). And forgot to say yesterday that the eiderdown has arrived its lovely, but doesn't appear to be old, but its in perfect condition. Will post some pics when its on the bed and I've hoovered and dusted our bedroom. xxxxx

Shopping and Thrifting.......

I had a day out shopping today in Petersfield which was good fun. My SIL and I, wanted to raid the charity shops, and raid them we did! My favourite buy of the day though was from Laura Ashley. Four gorgeous chair seat cushions which were £6.50 each. I was going to make some, but for that price and from Laura Ashley to boot, I decided to buy them.

I also found a lovely fabric shop, with the most drool worthy curtain fabric. In fact loads of stunning fabrics, but I was good and just bought what I needed. I got some lovely red gingham and some white linen fabric which will be made into a goose and four lemon buttons for my bunnies outfit.
I was on the lookout for Cath Kidston stuff in the charity shops and I did find one item. This Lavender and Geranium hand cream which smells delicious.

I also picked up quite a few items of clothing, two jumpers for Mr Pixie, a pretty top for mum and a few items for me, but when I tried my items on they looked awful so I'll be taking them back bar one top. The charity shop gives you 14 days to take things back, but I feel a bit guilty, so I'm sure I'll end up buying something else instead.
Finally, whilst in Laura Ashley, I picked up the new spring catalogue. So I'll leave you with some pics of my favourite pages to dribble over.

OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH

Pretty Fabric & an Idea......

The FQ's of fabric I ordered from e-bay came today. I'd never got fabric from this seller on e-bay before, but they were so reasonably priced and I'm very happy with them. My favourite is the cream with the polka dots and flowers on, and I'm also loving the pink polka dot one. Also this yankee strawberry melt arrived, which smells scrummy. It made all my post smell nice, I expect even the Postman smelt nice! (not that I go around sniffing postman).

I had a brainwave yesterday! I know its dangerous and doesn't happen very often. :o) I was looking at the hooge cork notice board in our kitchen which just seems to gather crap, and thought "I really hate that". So I decided after consulting hubby, that I'm gonna take it down and chop it in half. Then I'm going to cover it in the prettiest fabric I can find, and relocate it to the hallway. Anything I can use to cover the hideous artex in the hallway is fantastic in my book. So that leaves a big space on the kitchen wall. So inspired by Mel Mels peg rail, I've decided I want one too, so I'm on the lookout for a cheap one I can makeover, or hubbys gonna make me one. I intend to paint it either cream or pink. I had a lovely apron from my SIL a couple of years ago as a birthday present which is just too pretty to be hidden in the cupboard, so that will hang on the rail as well as some CK tea towels. I might put some pretty tins or china on top too. I'm itching to get it done now, will post pics when its finished.

Eiderdown Love...........

Hey folks, you know that eiderdown that I was bidding on, well I won! How fabtastically happy am I? I've been trying to get my hands on one of these beauties for ages, so when hubby said he'd give me some money for valentines day generous gorgeous hubby that he is :o). I decided to put it towards the eiderdown I'd been admiring. I had to put the other half towards it, and now all I have to do is wait for delivery. ( I think it will be a lllllloooooonnnnnngggggg wait).
Trouble is I know the cat will also like it and cover it in fur and footprints. I need to make some new cushions for our bed now I think to jazz the room up.

Catch you later folks. xxxxxxxxxxx Pixie xxxxxxxxxxxx

The Collector.......

I must admit to being a bit of a collector and hoarder of stuff! I have got a lot better, but anything termed by me as ''good stuff'' is kept and not given away, chucked out or sold. This is a pic of my cabinet in the lounge. I used to collect dragons and myth and magic stuff but tend not to now, with the exception of Windstone dragons which I adore, and I'm always on the lookout for a bargain.
I'm also a collector of artist bears, although not so many these days, but I still have a fair few indoors. They are dotted all over the house. I just love these miniature fairy bears, and the little witch and cat. The witch is only about 2 inches and the fairies about 3". I've made miniature bears and can tell you they are harder than the bigger bears to sew, its all the turning the seams which is so fiddly. So I leave the bear making to my sister in law, who makes a much better job of it.

This little cutie is one of my favourites. His name is hedgely and his head wobbles about, and he is just the cutest.

This is a windstone dragon and wizard mouse, I just love the colours.

Well I had the afternoon off yesterday and today, but yesterday I made this outfit for my bunny when I make her. I thought I'd do it in reverse and make the outfit before the bunny, as I didn't fancy sewing on the machine so sat and sewed this by hand in front of the TV. It won't look right until its on the bunny, What do you think of the colours? I don't normally do yellow.

I've had a bit of a tidy up indoors today, but theres just so much to do. Everywhere I look I see something else that needs doing, and my house is bugging me at the moment. It just doesn't look how I want it too in my head, so think I may be scouring e-bay later for a bargain. I've already got a gorgeous eiderdown in my watch list, but doubt I'll win it, they just seem to be going for so much money.

Update on the CK bag. For some reason my online order didn't go through so I rang them today and ordered the spray flowers bucket bag. I spoke to a lovely lady on the phone, and asked her to send me some CK fabric samples too. I also enquired when the messenger bag will be in stock and she seemed to think within a week or so. Apparently half the girls in the CK office are after that particular bag, so I bet they are snapped up super quick.
Blimey you can't shut me up today. So I'll poodle off now to sort out Mr Pixies dinner.

The Sky is Falling........

Look at the pretty fluffy stuff falling from the sky!
I had to drive to work this morning, and it was so not funny. The roads were treacherous and on the way back from breakfast club my car did slide a bit, and I was only in 1st gear and being extremely sensible! But luckily I had a call this morning to say the school I work at in the afternoons is now shut and will be tomorrow too. Yippppeeeee.

So I'm sitting with a nice hot cuppa and reading through posts. Blimey you lot have been busy posting. Its taken me 2 hrs to read through it all.
So what to do now. I think a bit of sewing and a nice film on, as I'm still nursing a bad cold.
I think Phoebe has the right idea!

No Business Like Snow Business.......

Prepare for photo overload. I just couldn't resist taking lots of pics of Woody on our walk this morning, I think he looks so handsome. He adores the snow and reverts back to being a puppy again.

Of course we had to take his ball!

It's a shame I had his lead on in this pic.

A couple of action shots. I love his ears in this one.

A pic of my dafs out the front.

Woody doing his impression of a shovel.

This is our pond. I bet those fish are cold.

I don't think the birds will be having a bath in this today.

But at least they can have something to eat.

Woody's just making sure the fish are OK.

And the last pic is one of our garden. ''Woody your in the photo again, your so vain''.
I walked to work this morning, but I'm further afield this afternoon, so will need to drive. I'm not looking forward to getting out on those roads. There are quite a few around here that haven't been gritted.
Stay safe and warm. ((((((hugs)))))) Pixie. xxxx

Indoors Day.......

For Bex my button stash....
____________________________________
It's been too cold to venture out today, we've even had a bit of snow for a while this afternoon and more snow is forecast overnight. My cold has freshened up again today, and I've still got a bad cough. Am I ever going to be free of this lurgy? I've been poorly since the beginning of November and just can't seem to shift it. I think working with children has got something to do with it. So I had a bath this morning but couldn't be bothered to wash my hair it can wait until tomorrow, I've not applied a scrap of makeup and I've worn my old comfy clothes all day. I've spent a fair bit of time on the pooter and the rest of the time sewing with my Merlin DVD on. I've made these today and a few other bits for the giveaway. Bekimarie, I will be posting your goodies tomorrow, so keep an eye out for the Postie.
I went back onto the CK website to check out the bags again, and it appears that the messenger bag is unavailable at the moment, so I ordered myself the bucket bag. I guess the other one being out of stock made my mind up for me. Although, when I say ordered, I think I've ordered it. I had no confirmation e-mail like I normally do, so I e-mailed them today and I'm waiting for them to get back to me. I'm also STILL WAITING for the Laura Ashley fabric I ordered over a week ago. If it doesn't arrive tomorrow, I will be chasing that up as well, I need it to make some bunting. :o(
_____________________________________
I'm sitting here thinking oh bu**er its Monday tomorrow, and the weekends flown by and I really don't want to go to work tomorrow :o(. I'd love a few months off to get the house looking how I want it and to make all the crafts that are whizzing around my head constantly. I find myself saying, ''where does the time go'' and ''it only felt like yesterday'' and ''blimey that time already'', an awful lot lately. Is this the same for everyone or is it just me?
As I don't have many pics to show you today, I thought I'd finish with a picture of our dinner, (like you do), Tuna Pasta Bake. We haven't had this in ages and it was scrummy.

Hope I haven't bored you to death. (((((hugs)))) Pixiedust xxxx
