Greetings ladies! Thanks for all the lovely comments on yesterdays post, I was surprised by how many of you had had a similar experience with the Royal Mail. After a whole bar of galaxy and a few glasses of vino I felt much better :o).
I have recently been chatting with my new friend Michele from Mamabug about cleaning, organising and how a domestic goddess I ain't. Thankfully she sympathizes completely and often feels the same. So I thought why not have a giveaway with a domestic goddess theme. All you have to do is leave a comment with either a domestic goddess tip for me or a domestic goddess disaster that's happened to you. If you pop my giveaway button on your blog you will also get entered into the laundry basket twice.
I'm hoping this will spur me on to pull up my marigolds and get on with it. lol
I'm on holiday next week, so last chance to enter will be 12th June dads birthday. I will pick the winner on the 13th. Good luck folks.

Being a Domestic Goddess myself!!!!!!
Here is my tip - instead of using chemical descaler in your kettle, use white vinegar instead!!!
Please may I join in the fun??
xxxx
Well it's not really a tip but my sister and I always put 'Domestic Goddess' in the occupations section of any fors, even official ones! LOL! We never have any problems, just amused smiles!
Well my domestic goddess tip involves white wine vinegar too!
I live in a busy household of 2 young children, 2 teenagers and myself and Mr.G. The washing machine is never off, trouble with that is the wet damp water smell you get so I just do a hot wash with a good ol glug of white wine vinegar and the said smell is gone! Yay!
Added a link to you from my blog too - Justine xx
Would love to enter! And my tip is- if you dont want to- get someone else to!!! Hee Hee.....
Have a fab holiday.
Warm Wishes,
Cally x x x
I always have bicarbonate of soda and lemons in my cupboard for cleaning. Bicarb is great for cleaning coffee/tea mugs, and many other uses, and smells better than yucky chemicals. Would love to enter thank you xx
Ooh! Count me in! My tip is Johnsons baby wipes will take chewing gum out of a carpet. Scary thought.

when you dont feel like doing housework (so, everyday), try doing it whilst listening to an audio book, a tip i got recently froma friend. I must say, it really works, you lose the boredom, get a good job done and get a good book read all at once.
Ebay sell tapes really cheap and of course the library rent them too, so it's not a budget breaker either :) How's that for a tip? Was considering what tip I could give whilst cleaning down the kitchen listening to Harry Potter 7, again!
Button on my blog too :)
I keephalf a lemon in the door of my fridge as it absorbs strong smells.
Gill
I have added your button. I always put half a lemon in the fridge to absorb odours.

Tee Hee someone else has the same hint as me - house cleaner all the way my darling !! !! Mine comes fortnightly and I don't know how I'd survive without here. I'm too busy cooking, baking, preserving, sewing, quilting, crafting to be doing housework! And I have to fit in working, being a Mummy and a wife in all of that somewhere!
oh such fun!! Now which tip to leave!!!
Erm if you have a stain or spill something on a carpet or rug. Mop the excess up and then soak and wring out towel. Place the damp towel over the stain/spill and then iron on the towel with a hot iron. The steam will remove the stain and the towel will soak up the residue!! This really works!!!!
Hi,thanks for your comment. This will be my very first swap. Very exciting! x
Button added too xx
This is not a very exciting tip but I try to do a little housework everyday, that way I feel like I've done something constructive with the day and don't feel guity when I'm doing anything crafty :) xxx
Ooooh count me in :) my tip involves an iron too! if you spill wax onto a sofa or something, wait until it's dry and lay a sheet of kitchen roll over the top, and then iron it! The wax will melt and stick to the paper :) also, in a weirder tip, you can mash a bunch of strawberries in with some mayo and use it as a yummy hair mask :) the mayo makes your hair glossy and shiny, and the strawberries make it smell yum! Button on my blog shuck ^_^ xx
Another vinegar tip - to get lovely streak free windows add a splash of vinegar to warm water. It never fails.
My mother is always giving me tip - it is usually when they don't work she admits she has never actually tried them, for example - place a cut onion in a room you have just painted to get rid of the smell of paint - and who couldn't sleep for the smell of onion???
hehehe, just remembered, when I was a kid, my best freinds mum asked at the local farmers supply shop what to paint the floor boards with - one tin of creasote was all it took for them to abandon the bedroom for about 6 weeks!
Am popping a button on my blog....right....now!

Great idea!
My tip is... no-one ever died wishing they had done more housework!
Not exactly a tip but it always makes me feel better.
My tip - do everything you can NOT to be like Anthea Turner. Heebie Jeebies!
Oh and just declare that you are a domestic goddess!

ohhh can i join in please:-) my tip is that babywipes are great for getting biro/pen stains off clothes!. I will also add your button to my blog x x
Don't think I should give anyone any tips!!
I used to make my own washing powder for the automatic machine from green soap, borax and lemon juice.
It was fine for a few weeks, then my machine went mouldy! Took weeks and lots of real washing powder to get rid of it!!
Alison
Oooh how lovely, count me in too please! I would love to be a domestic Godess, but I think I fail miserably! I shall pop your button on my blog right now! Suzie xx
added your button to my blog too x
Well mine's quite simple BABY WIPES, they are the greatest thing ever for quick fix clean. I use them to clean shoes, Venetian blinds, give the bathroom a quick once over until I find time for a major clean, they are great on stainless steel, wiping over the fridge/dishwasher/radiators, kids toys etc. The list is endless, I just use cheap £1 fragrant free ones.
Oooh, me please! My tip is if you get cup marks on your wood, cut a brazil nut in half and rub it on. Works every time! xxx
Always have an aloe vera plant on your window sill, then should you burn or scald yourself... snap off a spike split it open with your nail and rub the gel contents on your sore spot and it won't blister, hurt as much or scar...
x Alex
Ohh sounds lovley.
Now a Domestic Goddess tip!!
Could be tricky.
I have a Gavin who does the housework, so my top tip would be find a man who can & get a good dish washer.
I will just say though that I did hoover the entire house today, it was hard work & he didn't even notice!!! Obviously I'm not great at hoovering.
Your button is on my blog.
Luv Sophie xxx
Hi!
You can count me in! My tip:
To completely clean up a jug or a vase, you can fill it with soda or baking powder and boiling water. The next day it will be shining clean!
Love,
Margriet
Soda crystals-good for so many things- half a pack and a kettle of boiling water, good for shifting blockages!
I have also added your button to my blog, bonus extra tip blood is always best washed out with cold water especially if it is recent- sorry a bit gruesome but useful.
Being a Domestic Goddess in training I really have no tips for you! :) I live with laundry mountain.....I don't know how it happens but the laundry just seems to multiply at the foot of my bed and demands to be folded and put away.....and just when I think I am done....the mountain starts to build!
I am all for hiring someone....oh had I the money!
Going to try to add your button though I have no idea how to do such things! :) I will post again if successful!
By Golly!!! I figured it out!
Ok a tip this time......well vinegar works wonders on many things. When my husband and I bought our first home and removed the rugs the wood floors smelled awful from pet urine....I soaked and soaked the floor in vinegar and the smell was gone! It is also brilliant to use in a washer with water to clean it out!
Hi! Please count me in for your giveaway. My Domestic Godess trip is for cleaning small silver items that colored black like spoons, neclace, rings, bracelets etc. First put two cups off salt in a bucket or something like that. Then take big peaces of aluminiumfoil and make many clots of it. Put it with the salt and add about 1 litre boiling water and your silver items. Within few minutes it will be clean.
Maaike xx
I am the original domestic goddess disaster waiting to happen on a regular basis I'm afraid. My tip would be tinned tomatoes though - you can never be without a dinner if you base it on a can.
Hi!
As I post my comment I see sweet little Beau to the right!! So darling!
My hint will come from my days long ago as a waitress!
To get ink pen stains out of our white nylon aprons we sprayed with regular old hairspray. It works!!
I'm a big fan of vinegar and see that lots of other commenters are too!!
Hugs and Smiles,
Lynn
Count me in Faierie Nuff. I'm not a domestic goddess really but I try. My tip is using newspaper and vinegar for glass and windows. Brings them up a treat. xx Have posted your widget on my blog (so to speak...).
I've never been a huge fan of vinegar purely because I don't like the smell, but I go through loads of baking soda (bicarb). My tip to remove tea stains from your stainless steel tea pot - a tablespoon of soda and pour in boiling water. Let it sit until the water goes cold. Rinse out. Sparkling!
I replace about a third of my regular washing powder with soda crystals - they're good for smelly drains too - just pour a handful down followed by hot water!
Gill
My tip is for all those who have a conventional, by that I mean not a self cleaning, oven. When you have cleaned it make a paste of Bicarbonate of soda and wipe all over the door and sides etc. next time you use it any grease, splashes will wipe off, but don't forget to reapply.
I have put your button on my blog too!
i'd like to enter please!!
hmmmm a tip i like is: cloths- pink for the sink and blue for the loo!!
well all the tips seem to be taken lol so a try to be domestic godess I put bananas in a bubble wraped bag and they last for two weeks at least
Oooh please count me in!
My tip....
place a bay leaf and or some mint leaves in your kitchen cupbaords to keep away the bugs.
Also keep a bay leaf in every container of rice or floue to keep out the weeevils...
Will put your button my blog too.
Thanks hunny

my tip would be always tidy up, do the ironing as soon as it is dry, hoover every day, make the beds, feed the kids/hubby/pets and never do any crafting!!!
only joking!!!
my real tip would be baby wipes too great for everything, if they can get poo off a babies bum just think what els they can clean!!!
as i'm undomesticated i have discovered that baby wipes will clean anything! they even get crayon off flat screen TV's (just don't tell my husband i know this!)
Probably too late now but my tip is that if you have burnt on stuff in a pan put a little bit of biological washing powder in and boil it up with some water for a couple of mins and all the yucky stuff comes off soooo easily instead of scrubbing :)
