A Crafty Business......

Well, I'm busy being crafty at the moment. Here's a bit of work in progress. These wooden hearts, when finish will be adorning my craft stall. All of the other things I'm making at the moment are stitched, and when they are finished I will pop up a pic. I've got two up and coming craft fairs and I've never done one before, so its all new to me, but I have been helping out on my SIL's stall for years selling bears so I'm hoping I'll be OK, I've just never had stuff I've made before on a stall.

When I've got enough I'm hoping to put some on Etsy as well, so watch this space.

What A NAUGHTY Pixie I Am........

Well....... because I haven't blogged much of late, I have a load of pics to show you, so prepare for

PICTURE OVERLOAD........

I attended the bear fair in Kensington in September and met a lovely lady called Cathryn from DW bears. I purchased a bear from her....not this one though, her pic is further down, and I bought her with some birthday money I had, as it was also my Birthday in the beginning of September, anyway, I digress. Cathryn had a lovely range of raggy bears, which I fell in love with, and I asked her to make me one, thinking that it wouldn't be made until at the very earliest Christmas. But she made him within a fortnight and he arrived this week. May I introduce Radley Rags, Isn't he the cutest. He reminds me of Mr Potts dressed as a rag doll in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.


The bear I originally bought from DW Bears is this little stunner, actually she's quite big, but isn't she gorgeous. I love how original Cathryns bears are. This is Polly Patch.

Today was another naughty day in Pixiedust land. I went to a fabric shop with my sister in law and got a bit of a stash.

Other recent purchases, (remember I did have birthday money and I haven't been on here for a while) include these jugs from the Whittards outlet shop. I also have two mugs and four egg cups but didn't put a pic of them on here.

My neighbours bought this gorgeous candle pumpkin back from Florida for me. I only wish you could smell it, as it smells divine. Pumpkin Heaven.........

My friend Marie bought me this candle for my Birthday, and again smells delicious, you could actually eat it.

My little handsome chap is 4 today, Happy Birthday Woody give us a waggle!

The Dentist........

Well a couple of weeks ago I saw a sign go up outside the dentist opposite my work saying that they are taking on NHS patients. So I bit the bullet and registered, and today was my first appointment.

Now this is a big thing for me as I'm terrified of the dentist and haven't been for many years, and was dreading it. There were many trips to the loo this morning.

My dentist was a South African man and he put my mind at rest as soon as I got in the room. had the normal checkup and he cleaned my teeth and I had a shallow white filling done as well. The filling didn't hurt and I didn't even need to be numbed, but the teeth cleaning bit was horrible.

My wisdom teeth are growing inwards, which could cause a problem, but all the time they don't bother me they prefer to leave them well alone, which is fine by me.

So all in all, I got off very lightly and don't need to go back for 6 mths. The whole lot only cost £44.60 as well, so I'm really pleased I did it and its a weight off my shoulders.

There and back again, a Pixies tale.......

Well, I've finally got on here to write a post, about time aye? Hubby and myself and the dog have been away for a few days to Somerset for our anniversary. We stayed in a gorgeous little cottage near Wellington and Sampford moor, which was a stones throw away from these lovely views. We were one of two cottages down a long lane and you only had to walk out of the gate, turn left walk up a steep hill and you were on sampford moor, or as the owners called it the Race course. Woody really enjoyed the walks and it was nice to get away. I got a cold before we went which put a dampener on things a bit, but we still enjoyed it. Also found a couple of good farm shops and got some jams and jellies and a bottle of apple and blackberry wine.

Our neighbours looked after the cat for us. This is the cat that hates people and is scared of her own shadow. She let them smooth her and she didn't bat an eyelid when they came in. I think she may have been bribed with Tuna.

Since I've been back I've been busy making an item for a forum swap that I'm taking part in and I've got another item to make for a Halloween swap at the end of the month. I've also got my first craft type show to do selling my gingerbread men, hearts and bits and bobs in November so its all hands to the pump. My brothers girlfriends nursery is holding the charity evening and they have lots of stall there selling handmade cards, chocolates etc and she asked me if I'd like to do one and the rest is history. You don't have to pay for your stall, but they do ask for 10% of your profits to be donated to the charity of the evening.



I'm hoping to set up an Etsy shop in the near future with my crafty bits in so watch this space. How easy is this to do? any help would be appreciated.

I'm back.......

Hi everyone, I'm back. We've been away for a few days for our wedding anniversary, and lifes just been a bit busy and I've been neglecting the PC.

Wednesday Musings......

Well I made a couple of gingerbread men today. I enjoy making these as they don't take too long. They are filled with a lovely gingerbread scent too. These two are destined for presents. I can't work out whether I prefer the dark or light colour what do you think?
I got this lovely bag in the post this morning. I'm not sure who its from, as we're doing an anonymous cloth bag swap on the forum at the moment. I've not even started mine yet.
Its really well made, lined and everything and it came with a packet of tomato seeds and inside the bag is a key fob with the little mans name on.

Drum Roll Please....................

TA DA!!!!! Its finished. Its taken a couple of days but I'm pleased with it. I'm amazed its finished, I start these things and I'm an ideas kinda gal, but to actually finish something is a miracle.
Suggestions for a name would be appreciated, I'm a bit stumped.

Baking-n-Stuff

Hello everybody. Been a bit busy and stressy here so haven't blogged much lately. Basically our boiler died, which was expected, as hubby's been nursing it on for years, but still doesn't help the fact that we had to shell out a vast sum of money for a new boiler, pump, tank and some pipework. Trouble is its still not working properly, and the guys been out three times already. He's actually done a good job, the problem lies with the initial pipework when the house was built. Hubby thinks he knows how to remedy it fingers crossed, so is off to the diy store after work today.

I fancied doing a bit of baking this morning, so made a batch of Ginger Nut Biscuits and a courgette loaf. This should hopefully last a while and will do for hubby's lunchbox this week. Save buying cake and biscuits. I'm hoping to get away with not doing a big shop this week. I'm just going to pop out later to get a few essentials, bread, milk (wine) etc.

We seem to have cupboards full of tins and packets and a freezer full of stuff but nothing to eat, so I think we are going to be having a few unusual dinners this week to use it all up. Besides shopping has got so expensive lately we need to save the pennies.
I'm in the process of making a sheep at the moment. I'm hoping to have him finished today and will try and post a pic of him on here later. In the meantime here's a piccie of the little man with his favourite soft toy.
