Giveaway - Final Call.....And some cute bears

Good Morning folks, hasn't the weather been gorgeous this week? it makes you feel so much better when the sun is shining. I've been getting on with some housework, and have even written down a little cleaning rota, so I tackle an area of the house day by day. So far I've done well, but today is the dreaded cleaning of the bathroom day :o(, so wish me luck. I've even managed to get some washing out on the line for the first time this year. You can't beat a nice spring day for drying the washing.

Now what's with the bears I hear you say. Well as many of my regular readers will know, my sister in law makes the most scrumpscious looking handmade cupcake bears, so I thought I'd treat you to a few pics of some of her latest Easter cupcakes and her new range of wedding cupcakes. Please take a look at her website and blog, for more delicious treats.

We attended Hugglets bear fair last Sunday in Kensington. Had a lovely day selling these cute little treats, as well as some of her other bears and gollies. It turned out to be the best fair we've ever done, with lots of these critters snapped up and given a new loving home.

Well its the very last day of my giveaway today, so if you haven't entered and would like to pop your name in the hat please click here. I will pick the winner tomorrow.

Have a great weekend.

Birthdays and Bear Fairs

Hi folks, its been a busy week here. Firstly I'm back to work now as the schools are back, so that always takes a bit of adjusting too. It was my birthday Wednesday, and had a pretty ordinary day but got some nice little pressies and was made a fuss of, which is always nice. I've put some pics of my pressies further down. I even had a bunch of flowers from hubby, which is the first time in 11 years, so was pretty shocked, but was chuffed to bits.
Yesterday my SIL and I went to Kensington for the hugglets bear fair. As you all probably know my SIL makes the most gorgeous bears and can be found here and here. We had a stall in the basement, which we actually quite like coz its nearer the loo's ;o). We had the best day, in fact she's never sold so many bears in one fair before and had lots of orders it was great, and sooooo busy all day. She only had two cupcake bears left, all the other cupcakes were snapped up. Sorry the pics aren't great forgot my camera so took these on my phone (birthday present from hubby ;o)

I'm all inspired to start creating now, so may delve into my craft box this week and start making again. Especially with Christmas around the corner (sorry i said the C word!)

Here's my birthday pressies. (I got lots of chocs and wine .... ;o)

Flowers from Hubby

Sunflowers from my friends Marie and Tracy.
See you soon!! .....Pixie xxxxx

Bunting and Daffs........

Hello folks. Sorry I've neglected you all this weekend, I've been really busy. I went to Stockbridge on Saturday with hubby, but was a bit disappointed. Not much there and what was there was very expensive, I mean £70 for one cushion is just ridiculous. Saturday night I went over my friends for a party so had a late night and was up again at 5.30am to go to London to Hugglets. More on that in a minute.
I finished stitching my bunting yesterday and here it is. I'm pretty pleased with it, and want to make more now.

Here's a couple of pics of the daffs my neighbour bought over for me on Friday, they're so pretty, and it really feels like Springs in the air when I see daffs.

Well back to Hugglets, which is the bear fair in Kensington. As you all know my sister in law makes lovely artist bears and we had a stall at the fair. I was amazed at just how busy the fair was, considering we're in a recession, the place was jumping. I forgot to take my camera, but my SIL is going to e-mail me some pics to put on here. I was quite good and didn't buy a bear, but I did get some small pieces of fabric with tiny print on, which is great for patches and stuff.

Also got these lovely buttons for my crafting projects. They are hand made and lovely. I think the ducks are my favourite.

This little collection of mother of pearl vintage buttons cost £2.50, bargain!

and I couldn't resist this little fella. The lady that makes the buttons also makes these.
We got diverted going to London as the A3 was shut aarrrhhh, but managed to get there on time thankfully. We were stuck in loads of traffic on the way home too, so didn't get home until nearly 8pm. By that time I was knackered, so put my PJ's on, watched Larkrise to Candleford and went to bed. I still feel really tired today, but theres so much I want to do.
Thats all for now folks catch you later.

Greetings.....

Greetings all. Sorry I haven't been around much the past week, its been manic as usual, the weekend especially.

I was on a first aid course all day Saturday and went to see the witches of eastwick Saturday night. I've only ever seen pantomimes at the theatre before. This was a strange one though. I did enjoy it, but its not something I'd want to see again. The singing was great though. I had a woman with very fuzzy hair in front of me, If only I had a pair of scissors :o). lol.

Yesterday I was at the Hove bear fair. We walked in to a huge hall with only 19 stalls. It was badly organised as the date had been changed three times, and at £80 a stall, the stall holders that did go were far from impressed. We all hope it will be organised differently next year. But my sister in law didn't do too badly. She sold a few. She was featured in the latest bear mag, so did well selling her christmas cake bears. Please check out her bears (Teeny Bears), the Xmas pud is great!

Well I'm off to a candle party tonight, and the rest of the week needs to be spent cleaning the house.

Dorset Teddy Bear Fair at Kingston Maurward

Well yesterday My sister in law and I made our way to Dorchester for the Dorset Teddy Bear Fair. It was an easy drive down and we didn't really hit much traffic. The Fair is held at Kingston Maurward House in Dorchester which is a beautiful 18th Century Georgian House set in a Capability Brown style parkland setting.
The bear fair is a lot smaller than it used to be, as all the stall holders were in one hall. Sadly a lot of the stallholders were bear shops rather than the dying bear artist, which is what I for one like to look at, rather than manufactured bears, which all look the same.
Here are some of the bears my sister in law made which were on the stall. These are her new style calico bears which are more affordable and I love. They go really well in a shabby chic style setting.

Was a bit of a disappointing show, as didn't even cover the cost of the table. So not sure if we will be going back again next year.
My hearts, cupcakes and chickens! I sold two hearts yesterday. I won't be a millionaire yet then!

The best part of the day for me was discovering the beautiful gardens. I could have spent all day looking around. It was a lovely day yesterday and just wandering around on my own was so relaxing.

There were lots of different parts to the garden to explore, it was just like the secret garden. I'm hoping to take hubby along sometime to have a look around. Sadly you can't take your dogs which is a shame as its a long day to leave him on his own, so will have to try and find someone to look after him.

I got a bit carried away taking piccies but it was so pretty I had too!
